Just one question

Seeing that so many of you want me to push past 2,000 pucks, as evidenced by the results in the latest Hound Central 5.0 poll, I'm wondering just how many are also willing to finance the effort?

If you'd like to make donations, send me an e-mail. I'll be more than happy to put your money to good use. ;-)

Now, if only Moody would stop voting.

  2. Well 2000 is a good target but as for sending $$ only if I hit the lotto

  4. I think that after hitting 2000, you should move even more towards a 'quality' vs 'quantity' point.

Getting just the "must haves". It would be weird not seeing the pucks anymore.

That said, knowing the boundaries and limits to one's collection is a very important priority (and often makes a collector either really enjoy their collecting - or are frustrated and controlled by it).

  5. You're right, it is weird. I remember days of carrying 20-25 pucks at a time. Now, I'm lucky if I have more than 10.

It's all part of tyhe cherry-picking approach I take these days.

And, yes, I'll become even more selective except for certain teams that I've haven't hounded in a long time. I've got a bunch of pucks left over for the Canucks, but I can't imagine needing more than a couple dozen between now and April.

  7. If you win the lotto, I expect you to take a road trip down here to Hockey Bay and come out hounding with us. Think of the shipping charges you'd save.

  8. And as to quality over quanity I'd go with quality. Thats the one thing I've learned doing the AHL there are to many sure fire can't miss prospects out there(Lundmark, Brendl, Hilbert etc etc)
And as a side note one time in Lowell I had Cam Ward sign a Calgary puck I just grabbed the wrong one from my bag. He did sign it but as he was I realized what I had done and then handed him a Carolina puck. Still got em both
